Chariot Heartgame Write-up
Looong overdue, but I'm also feeling super lazy so this is a lazy man's write-up (I got even lazier toward the end of this write-up and I apologize for that now...). I'll just be touching upon the major features of the heart and what changes were made. However I will be answering and encouraging questions on specific things/areas, so anything that I end up leaving out/forgetting to address or don't go into enough detail about is free range.
For reference, his heart run was here!
Start Point/Outside the Villa
You start off in front of a pair of open white gates decorated with black roses. The grounds around you are covered in trees identical to the ones in Beauty's realm, mixed with the sunflowers from Three's realm to make for a... sort-of forest. Looking through the trees, you can just make out a lake to the far right. Just ahead along a smoothly paved road, you can see an Italian villa half-covered in rose vines. Onyx's tower attached to the left side of the main building; there's a smaller dirt road that seems to lead directly there.
- The area outside is a mix of Aather worlds and Chariot's memories of his home in Italy.
- It's essentially a pretense of what he tries to project, someone who's comfortable having the world he remembers and the world he lives in now mixed together.
- Main features out here were the lake, the tree, and the forest.
The Lake
You found the lake! There's... nothing particularly notable about it; in the far distance, on the other side of the lake, you can just make out a small village there. What is possibly more notable is the small blonde teenager sitting with his legs pulled up against his chest on the lake shore, staring out across the water.... notably his sleeves are gone and there's only the tattoo of a horse on his arm, the skin around it still a vivid pink.
- This Tiny!Dino represents Dino/Chariot's regrets over being mafia. It's something he ALWAYS thinks about, whether he really did the right thing by choosing this path and the conviction he has to staying on this path. The fresh tattoo on his arm means that he wouldn't ever really turn away, but that doesn't keep him from thinking about it.
- The tiny village represents civilian life/not being in the mafia.
The Tree
Just in front of the main doorway is a single tree with a thick, young-looking trunk and a wide, lush canopy. The leaves on the tree are a mix of different shades of green, except for one low-hanging leaf that's a rich shade of red.
- The Cavallone family tree. Every leaf on this tree holds the name of a member of the Cavallone family.
- The red leaf is 'Dawn' from Ruby.
The Forest
- Extra prickly/spiny/annoying to represent how difficult it is for Chariot to walk around by himself.
- Inside the forest are lightning wolves from Three's realm. They continue to be the most stand-out monster in Chariot's memory, so they're the only monster that really roams around in the forest.
And sitting on a low branch in a nearby tree is a familiar fiery bird persona...
... If that persona were actually a baby wearing a Firebird disguise.
"Ciaossu."
- The forest is littered with personae! Except they're also babies that Chariot remembers from his world.
- Personae are regarded as the 'strongest'/'most powerful' beings in Aather and the arcobaleno are regarded as the strongest among the mafia. So Chariot's heart kind of mixed them together into a collaboration to be intensely feared.
- Reborn = Firebird; Mammon = Three; Fon = Green Knight; Colonello = Netted Lion.
- The personaebabies will always play nonsensical games with you when they find you. If you lose, you get wolves set on you. If you win, you get a reward.
Inside the Villa
Open the doors and you find yourself in a grand foyer. There are a pair of red carpeted staircases leading up and a single staircase leading to the lower level. There are two doorways that you can see on the lower level, one open and the other closed. From the open doorway, the sound of elegant music floats out.
- The inside of the villa is more based on Chariot's memories of his home as Dino.
Closed Door
You find yourself in one large, open room, lined from ceiling to floor with books of all different sizes. The book covers are a mix of black and white, with white books dominating the room for the most part. In the center of the room is a simple desk with a laptop sitting on it. The screen is glowing faintly.
- The library holds all of Chariot's knowledge and skills.
- White books are accessible and readable, black books are locked down and can't be read at all (the font and pages are totally black).
- The white books are skills/information he doesn't mind being public knowledge, black books are skills/information he doesn't want to share/have others knowing he knows.
- The question on the laptop is Green Horse became "_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _". The password is 'Bucking Horse'. Entering the password shifts the black books to black font on gray paper.
- Password signifies the transition between Green Horse to Bucking Horse. This is the point in time where Dino pretty much opened himself up to obtaining all of his black-book knowledge, so that's why it's the password.
Open Door
Following the music leads you into an elegant ballroom decorated in warm shades of gold. There are crowds of people in here, finely dressed and wearing black and white masks, mingling and dancing and chattering, though actual conversations are impossible to make out. At the other end of the hallway, you can just make out a doorway through the throngs of people, though getting there will probably be a challenge of its own...
- The crowd is representative of Chariot's abilities to be friendly and polite and completely side-step people trying to learn more about him.
- They respond well to politeness and subtlety, but blatant forward charging gets you kicked out. Same way that Chariot responds better to subtle inquiries from people in general than outright attempts to get at his mafia life.
When you manage to reach the darkened doorway, you find... a few large men in suits blocking your way. Their glance-overs of your group are very unimpressed.
"Names?"
- Mafia bodyguards! They block the way to the underground and unless you're with a mafia family, you can't get through.
- Trying to force your way past them would get you kicked out. Pressing the issue gets you killed.
- Originally I was going to have Reborn appear here and play Russian Roulette with people to get them through but I... forgot...
Upstairs
At the top of the stairs, you can see two hallways, one pure white that leads to the left and a gray-painted one that begins darkening into black at the end on the right.
- Upstairs are the 'guest' rooms, ie rooms representing Chariot's relationships with people.
- The white hallway splits into individual hallways for each of the teams, including Sterling. There are rooms in each team's hallway for only the people Chariot's met, past and present, but if he hasn't met/knows about a particular member of a team, they wouldn't have a door.
- The gray-to-black hallway connects to Onyx tower, with rooms for all past and present members of Onyx
- Explored rooms: Yuri, Spitfire, Sasuke, Sion
- Doors with the Cavallone mural are people who Chariot has talked to/made hints of his mafia background to. If you push the mural, it'll open the passageway to the underground, like if you push Chariot while already having an 'in', he'll talk.
- As a note, the only person originally with an open passageway is Dawn.
Onyx Tower
The base room of Onyx's tower is nearly identical to the real one in Onyx. There's the smell of food coming from the kitchen and plush chairs and seats everywhere and a general feeling of home here. There's also a single staircase that leads up the tower and a black hallway that's unfamiliar to the left.
- The black hallway is the same one that holds all of Onyx team's door and connects to the rest of the villa.
- Onyx is representative of Chariot's sense of team/family, which is why they connect his 'Italy' home to his Onyx one. They give him the same feelings as Cavallone family does.
- The tower doesn't have rooms on each floor and instead goes straight to the top.
You find a sparsely decorated office room. It's clean, and almost completely empty except for a Chariot sitting behind the desk and a certain redhaired persona sitting on the desk. It's nearly impossible to tell unless you're looking, given that Chariot's wearing a clean suit, but the hints of tattoos that usually peek out from under his collar and the cuffs of his wrist are missing. Otherwise, he looks completely as usual.
... It may be worth noting that Maleficent is currently baby-sized and studying you intently as you enter.
- Maleficent is not exempt from the idea that babies = strongest beings.
- This Chariot only has the tattoos that Chariot has gotten since entering
- He's essentially the face of 'Chariot' and runs the area above ground. He will ask people to stay out of the underground and if they agree, will send them somewhere 'safe'.
- Maleficent, on the other hand, wants people who'll push past 'Chariot' and try to get to the real one. She'll hand over a ring for anyone who does, which is needed to open the gates to true!Heart.
- Maleficent has one of the keys to true heart because, aside from Reborn, she is the other most important person in developing Chariot to who he is now.
The Underground
- Represents the 'Dino' part of Chariot.
- Access here is only through areas that already have an 'in' or if you're mafia.
The Casino
You walk down a dark passageway, for quite a while it feels, until you finally reach the bottom floor. Which may hurt your eyes after all that darkness because quite suddenly you're at the entrance to a lively and busy casino. The usual rings and dings of machines, players, and games echo all around you and gosh is everything shiny.
- The casino is representative of Chariot's general morality! Staying away from gambling is essentially keeping his morals clean.
- By gambling at the casino, you... lower Chariot's morality...
The Market
You walk down a dark passageway, for quite a while it feels, until you finally reach the bottom floor. All around you looks like a bustling... market? If markets had large amounts of weaponry, drugs, and objects of indeterminable origin. There's shouts from every corner of the market, beckoning people to come closer.
- The market is representative of Chariot's self-restraint! It's representative of RESISTING THE TEMPTATIONS AROUND HIM ie ignoring the mafia-route ways of handling things.
- Taking things from the vendors opens up acceptable mafia-solutions to things.
Training Facility
The area you step into is... the hallways of a school? That's what it looks like, anyway, and the people that pass by you are definitely dressed as students. There are a few doors along this hallway, and a set of stairs leading up and down.
- Training facility is a mix of Chariot's memories/experiences in being trained and his current experiences in training others.
- Classrooms hold either memories or give
- The stairs leading up lead you to the Namimori rooftop.
- The stairs leading down lead take you to the Testing Facility
- There is a Tiny!Dino hiding in a closet. He's essentially a memory but also represents a part of Dino that acknowledges that the mafia does bad things and can be bad.
Going up the stairs and through the door, you find yourself on what looks like a school's rooftop. There's cracks and dents and more general destruction scattered across the area, along with the occasional splotch of blood. On the ground are green and black jackets, both looking fairly shredded. There's also the top of a ladder visible on the far edge of the rooftop.
- Chariot's training experiences/memories with Hibari get their own rooftop there are that many of them.
- Altering things here would alter his relationship with Hibari.
- If you linger here too long Hibari appears and beats you.
- The ladder leads down to a segment of the testing facility that's mixed with Chariot's memory of his TYL!self.
- Scuderia, TYL!Dino's box horse, is down the ladder, since it's tied to Chariot's TYL memories. It can also take a person safely through the Testing Facility and any location in Chariot's heart.
Testing Facility
The area you arrive in looks like a city turned battleground. Mostly because it is. There's rubble and debris scattered everywhere and from the sounds of explosions echoing all around you, it seems like the battle's still going.
In the far distance ahead, you can just make out what looks like a glass dome that's somehow managed to not get itself shattered in the midst of all this chaos. That sure looks like a safe place to head.
- Representative of Chariot's battlelust and his general views on fighting.
- Interacting with the combatants here fuels his battlelust.
- This is where TYL!Dino, who watches over the Underground, hangs out. He's regarded as the most experienced and knowledgeable of all the non-true-heart-Dinos/Chariots, so he's the one entrusted with the most dangerous areas. Notably, he only has Dino's tattoos and none of Chariot's.
- This Dino is a lot more honest with Chariot's desires and thoughts.
- TYL!Dino is also capable of bringing around a Reborn if necessary.
True Heart
- Only accessible if you pass through the Underworld, ie you HAVE to know about Chariot's mafia life to get to the real him.
The Glass Dome
You find yourself in front of a glass dome, a large one at that, big enough to easily fit a villa in. Which this one happens to be doing; in design, the villa is almost identical to the one that you saw at the beginning of this heart, but this villa is free from the entanglement of thorned vines and sunflowers and trees. The grounds here are instead decorated with lush rose bushes, neatly pruned and beautifully blooming, scattered all across the enclosed area.
The dome itself is completely sealed off except for one closed and locked doorway.
- Locked by two locks, one that needs to be opened with Dying Will and another that needs to be opened with Maleficent's ring.
- Symbolizing the need to be aware of both sides of Dino, and interaction with the two people most important to him, to get into trueHeart.
True Villa
You managed to get through the glass doors!
The villa around you has a warm and calming feel to it, and now that you're inside you can see dozens of people milling around, talking and laughing and just giving the general feeling of a warm community to the area.
- derederefamilyderederedere
- True Villa is where trueheart!Chariot lives and where he feels most comfortable, surrounded by his family. They are all protected in the glass dome!!
- When you head toward trueheart!Chariot, Maleficent and Reborn will join you in their adult forms and will always hang out in the room around Chariot while people are there. They are there to make sure you do not mess with the true heart and all their hard work.
+++
I... I THINK THAT WAS EVERYTHING but if I missed something/left something out again feel free to punch me and I'll address it. There were some things that didn't affect the heart, such as interacting with the personaebabies, so I left out details on those bits, but if you would like to know more about the INTENSE AND DEEPER MEANINGS of things like why Colonello was a lion you are free to.
For reference, his heart run was here!

- The tiny village represents civilian life/not being in the mafia.
- - Sasuke gave Tiny!Dino a pep talk... in Sasuke terms...
- + Helped to make Chariot more resolved in his choice regarding the mafia in a 'I picked this I will stay with it to the end' sort of way.
- - Nameless climbed up the tree and shook a bunch of the leaves out.
- + Every leaf knocked out was a name/identity wiped from Dino's memory of the Cavallone family.
- + Nameless registers as a threat to the Cavallone family.
- + Nameless registers as a threat to the Cavallone family.
- - Hazel yelled at Nameless then helped him shove them back onto the tree... kinda...
- + Names/Identities restored, though his memory of them would be fuzzy as they're not actually reattached to the tree.
- + Reattaching the leaves properly registers as 'taking care of the family.' Anyone who helps take care of the family/the family tree generally becomes family.
- + Nameless is no longer an immediate threat but someone to keep an eye on. And maybe yell at.
- + Hazel would have been registered as Cavallone but Chariot is already aware of Hazel belonging to another family, so instead he registered as a good/close ally to Cavallone.
- + Reattaching the leaves properly registers as 'taking care of the family.' Anyone who helps take care of the family/the family tree generally becomes family.
- - Flame passes by and reattaches the leaves one by one.
- + A black leaf appeared with Flame's name on it, registering him as Cavallone.
The Forest
- Extra prickly/spiny/annoying to represent how difficult it is for Chariot to walk around by himself.
- Inside the forest are lightning wolves from Three's realm. They continue to be the most stand-out monster in Chariot's memory, so they're the only monster that really roams around in the forest.

- The personaebabies will always play nonsensical games with you when they find you. If you lose, you get wolves set on you. If you win, you get a reward.
- - Sasuke, Flame, and Spitfire all lose their games.
- + No reward. Six new wolves added to the forest.
- - Guy wins his game.
- + Wins... Reborn!
- + Reborn is essentially a cheat/guide around Chariot's heart. He can get you into the underground, fill you in on what means what, and get you to the true!heart with minimal effort.
- + Guy instead gets an embarrassing picture of tiny!Dino in sheep clothes from Reborn.
- + Reborn is essentially a cheat/guide around Chariot's heart. He can get you into the underground, fill you in on what means what, and get you to the true!heart with minimal effort.

- - Yuri unlocks the black books, removes a book, then relocks them.
- + If left unlocked, Chariot would have been more open about the knowledge he doesn't usually want known. Letting things slip, etc.
- + Yuri took the Hidden Passageways in the Cavallone Villa, which gave him a cheat map around the villa area of the heart.
Open Door
Following the music leads you into an elegant ballroom decorated in warm shades of gold. There are crowds of people in here, finely dressed and wearing black and white masks, mingling and dancing and chattering, though actual conversations are impossible to make out. - They respond well to politeness and subtlety, but blatant forward charging gets you kicked out. Same way that Chariot responds better to subtle inquiries from people in general than outright attempts to get at his mafia life.
- - Flynn and Throne polite'd their way to the front.
- + Both will have an easier time getting close to the topic of the mafia, but not talking about it directly.
- - Flame pushed his way through a little.
- + Flame would have gotten more of a resistance against mafia topics if not for the fact that he registered himself as Cavallone before this.
- Originally I was going to have Reborn appear here and play Russian Roulette with people to get them through but I... forgot...
- - Hazel gets Flynn and Nameless past them by telling the guards they're all Shimon family.
- + … Nameless and Flynn are now registered as Shimon in Chariot's mind.
- - Flame gets through using Cavallone name.
- + Flame sure is Cavallone now.
- - Throne reaches the guards but gets turned away.
- + He leaves gracefully though so no kick-outs for Throne.
Upstairs
At the top of the stairs, you can see two hallways, one pure white that leads to the left and a gray-painted one that begins darkening into black at the end on the right.
- Upstairs are the 'guest' rooms, ie rooms representing Chariot's relationships with people.

- - Yuri opens his door, cleans up his room, and opens the passageway to the underground.
- + The closed door represented Chariot's willingness to interact with the door owner, ie not at all. Opening it switched that back to normal.
- + Dust represents disuse; if Yuri had only opened the door but left the dust, it would have taken a while for their relationship to get back to the point it's at now.
- + Opening the window gave Chariot a general brighter/more positive view on his relationship with Yuri and put in the idea that things can be worked out between them.
- + Dusting the sheets on the bed restored sexual interest and general comfort in being more physical with Yuri.
- + Opening the passageway 'opens up' Chariot to talk with Yuri about his mafia life more.
- + Dust represents disuse; if Yuri had only opened the door but left the dust, it would have taken a while for their relationship to get back to the point it's at now.
- - Spitfire puts on a classy suit then opens the passageway to the underground under Reborn's encouragement.
- + Opening the passageway 'opens up' Chariot to talk with Spitfire about his mafia life more.
- - Sasuke opens the passageway to the underground in his room.
- + Opening the passageway 'opens up' Chariot to talk with Sasuke about his mafia life more.
- - Flame adding himself to the family opened up a passageway in his room.
- - Throne lets a lightning wolf loose in Onyx Tower by accident.
- + Mild feeling of Throne is a danger to Onyx.
- + Mild feeling of Onyx is unsafe, but that'll fade over time once true!heart fixes things.
- - Spitfire meets with 'Chariot' and agrees to leave things alone.
- + Gets himself locked in his room in Iolite.
- + Fades his mural some as a result.
- + Fades his mural some as a result.
- - Sasuke meets with 'Chariot', gets the approval of Maleficent, and gets her ring.
- + Strengthens the mural in his room.
- + In general, Chariot'll put up much less of a wall/defense around Sasuke as compared to anyone else.
- - Hazel, Flynn, Flame, and Spitfire all bypassed gambling.
- + DOING THE RIGHT THING.
- - … Nameless got left alone in the casino and gambled for the rest of the heartgame...
- + Morality dropped... pretty low... making Chariot more susceptible to playing games/dealing with things in more underhanded ways. Essentially more willing to apply all that knowledge he knows and never used before.
- + He also does not care about other people outside of Cavallone as a result.
- + Eventually true!heart will fix it back to normal, but it's going to take a while.
- + He also does not care about other people outside of Cavallone as a result.
- - Throne avoids making any dealings.
- + Yes good.
- - Yuri takes a dagger from a vendor.
- + Chariot is more susceptible to using violence as an answer. And in general.
- - Flynn and Hazel find Tiny!Dino and moedere at him.
- + Bonus points to Flynn and Hazel!! Particularly in talking with them about the things he worries about.
- + A stronger belief in the ideal that he can change the mafia for the better.
- - Flame climbs down the ladder and hops on Scuderia.
- + The reason Flame could ride Scuderia in the first place was because he's Cavallone. Otherwise Scuderia would have set him on fire a little and played avoidant.
- - Yuri runs into Xanxus, kidnaps Squalo's shark and rides it around, and flirts with TYL!Dino before heading off.
- + Bumped up Chariot's battlelust vs aggressors a few points.
- + Mild desire to shift in his current style toward something more acrobatic.
- + Flirting with TYL!Dino makes Chariot in general more receptive/willing to flirt with Yuri.
- + … If Yuri had banged TYL!Dino here, Chariot would have ended up tying violence and sex a little closer, particularly in regards to Yuri. And maybe sharks.
- + Mild desire to shift in his current style toward something more acrobatic.
- - Hazel and Flynn run into tankEnzio, MOUNT THE TURTLE, and decide to ride him to true heart.
- + Chariot's battlelust vs animals is bumped up a few points.
- - Spitfire runs into Squalo and uses fancy flame road tricks to head toward trueheart.
- + Bumped up Chariot's battlelust vs aggressors a few points.
- + Mild desire to shift toward more showy/flippy fighting style damn you Spitfire and Yuri.
- - Guy and Yuri are guided here by Reborn and Guy volunteers to get Dying Will'd to help open the gate.
- + More of an ease of using mafia... things... around Guy. ONCE YOU ARE DYING WILL'D YOU ARE ALMOST FAMILY.
- Flame and Sasuke arrive and Sasuke uses the rose ring to open the other lock on the gate.
- + A stronger sense of Sasuke being his 'Onyx' family; thusfar Maleficent was the strongest and pretty much only real figure of Onyx in Chariot's head but now Sasuke is... there too. Yes.
- - People talked with true!HeartChariot!
- + Everyone who did got extra dere points from Chariot.
- - I would like to note that a tank-sized turtle, a flaming shark, and a flaming horse were left in here.
- + E... eventually they'll be shooed out but the immediate effects were a mellowed out Chariot due to rain flames and probably the desire to eat things he shouldn't be eating.
